As mentioned previously, our courseware is designed into Levels, Chapters, Topics, Assignments, and Assessments. Upon entering into the courseware through “My Courses,” you will find the Table of Contents labeled as “Course Content.” Here, you will be able to have a bird’s eye view of what content has been completed and what is still needing completion. Completed Chapters, Topics, Assignments, and Assessments will all have a check-mark next to the requirement. If the course component has not been completed, then there will still be an open radio button with no check-mark.
At the primary level, all content is arranged into Levels. Each level serves as a content organizer for the following two to three chapters of topics. The second level, the chapter level, helps organize the topics around a content area, and then each chapter has a concluding assignment that provides practical, hands-on instruction for the previous topics. For this course, these assignments will be submitted directly to your instructor however the instructor chooses to accept your assignments, typically either by email or through a content management system like Blackboard, Moodle, or Canvas.
To navigate all of these levels successfully, we HIGHLY recommend you downloading two specific technological applications right now. Don’t wait, do it now. These applications are Mozilla Firefox web browser and Roboform Password Manager. For the entire marketing tech stack used in this class, Mozilla Firefox is the best web browser. Google Chrome has compatibility issues with the Digital Engine sometimes, especially on assessments, and Apple Safari has compatibility issues with WordPress and your website building applications. Therefore, Mozilla Firefox is the absolutely the best browser to use for this entire course. If you ever have technical issues with the Digital Engine, it’s probably because you are still using Google Chrome. Switch it up now and make Firefox your preferred browser for this class. Next, Roboform is a free but very useful password management system. You will be using A TON of passwords in this course, as each piece of your marketing technology will require one. We do NOT ever recommend using the same password for every platform. Yes, that makes it easier, but if one is ever hacked, they can all be in jeopardy; so always create unique and strong passwords for each of you platforms. Start saving all of your tech stack passwrods into Roboform, or any password management tool that you prefer. We just have had a great experience with Roboform.

At the end of each Level, after all topical content and assignments have been completed, you will take an assessment quiz. These assessments serve only as accountability check on content mastery. They are NOT part of your course grade; however, until you score a 90% or better on these assessments, you will not be allowed to move on to the next content level. You can take the assessment as many times as you need to pass at 90%, as these are not counted as a grade. But, you must master the content in each level before moving on to the next building block of your instructional learning. (NOTE: Google Chrome will not reload the assessment retakes, but Mozilla Firefox works efficiently with all assessment mechanisms, so make sure you use Firefox on each assessment and throughout the rest of the course.) In all, there is one introductory level assessment, and then a total of eight content levels before you complete The Digital Engine courseware and receive your LinkedIn Certification.
Next, let’s learn a little more about the level assessments.
